I can’t believe how time flies! Our first “official” holiday - Halloween is upon us and we have so much to do to get ready for the party season.

I’d like to introduce Tess to you all - she is going to be writing a lot in the blog and boards in tandem with me. If you haven’t met her she is my daughter and we gave her the title, “The voice of reasons” because she has a lot to say about a lot of things…she has been observing this business since the age of 12, is a writer, musician, artist and is at that ripe age where she attends many events such as weddings and holiday parties.

I think you might enjoy her point of view since it’s outside the box of being either the entertainer, coordinator, client, bride, etc.

Her blogs will give lots of information that will be useful to everyone. She is a converted vegan and has many recipes to share to stay healthy during those holiday parties, weddings and celebrations! I’d like to say:

• Happy Birthday to Lisa Haug whose party I just performed on Friday 9/21/07 at the Ruins. It was a fun and exciting event! Janet Rayor was present on “stilts” as a peacock and then as Carmen Miranda. She was beautiful, graceful and fabulous - it added to the already great ambience of the Ruins.
• Congratulations to Jake & Roslyn Brookbank who were married on Saturday 9/22/07. The event took place at Edgewood Gardens. The weather held out just in time to have the ceremony in the English Garden with the guests facing the pond fountain. The catering staff was The Big Tomato and they were awesome. CB Bell was photographer for the event and watching him take some really creative shots gives me anticipation to enjoy the outcome of his work! The toasts went on and on and were loving and meaningful! From what I heard that night I believe this couple has many wonderful friends and family who love them very much! The dancefloor was hopping and we even went a half an hour overtime to accommodate the dancers!

The weekend was full of celebration and fun!

The blog is finally here and this is the first moment I’ve had to add to it! Kudos to Kristen Buchmann for all her fine work on not only the blog and website but on our ad design for the Seattle Wedding Show Magazine - Great Job!

Wedding season is almost at a close as we move hastily into “party” season for the upcoming holidays. We’re getting lots of calls from clients asking for “ideas” on what to add to their party plans to get people interacting and having a good time. I will be posting those ideas shortly.

I hope everyone has had a terrific summer and is gearing up for Winter - it seems that anymore our industry has less “off-peak” time as the years go by so enjoy it while we can!
